ICBC rates for healthcare services rendered due to accident injuries increases around $3 per session as of April 1, 2022

As of April 1, 2022, the fee schedule for health care providers providing treatment to injured ICBC customers will see a nominal increase compared to the previous year. Those who are injured in a motor vehicle accident and have a valid claim are preauthorized for the following number of treatments for each health care service within the first twelve weeks after their accident date.

ICBC will directly reimburse your health care provider, meaning you do not have to pay up front for services rendered unless there is a small amount remaining between the reimbursement amount and the amount charged. This amount is generally referred to as a user fee. These are the following rates currently being reimbursed by ICBC for each service.

  1. Acupuncture: $111 initial assessment visit, $94 standard treatment
  2. Chiropractic: $102 initial assessment visit, $56 standard treatment
  3. Counselling: $223 initial assessment visit, $127 standard treatment
  4. Kinesiology:  $104 initial assessment visit, $83 standard treatment
  5. Massage therapy:  $113 initial assessment visit, $85 standard treatment
  6. Physiotherapy:  $133 initial assessment visit, $84 standard treatment
  7. Psychology:  $361 initial assessment visit, $207 standard treatment
Once your initial twelve weeks is used up, or you reach the number of pre-authorized treatments, your health care provider will need to submit a treatment extension to ICBC if you require further treatment. The goal of these treatments are to return any functional deficits to a pre-accident state, however they are not intended to continue until you are 100% pain free as that often comes later.

If you are in an accident and have a valid claim number, you should find a health care provider as soon as possible to ensure you get the maximum amount of benefit possible from ICBC funded rehabilitation treatments.
